La scuola che frequentavo non aveva in programma manifestazioni ricreative annuali come recite, saggi di danza o concerti e così con il mio compagno di banco Maurizio abbiamo iniziato a fare tutti i preparativi per organizzare NOI qualcosa da proporre direttamente al preside. In realtà il progetto iniziale prevedeva una esibizione all’aperto nel cortile della scuola, dove si trovava il campo da basket ma poi per questioni di organizzazione e di vari permessi dei Vigili del Fuoco, Siae eccetera eccetera le cose sono andate ben oltre il mese di giugno e il tutto è stato spostato al chiuso per arrivare a dicembre del 1988. La sera del concerto c’erano quindi 4 gruppi -se non ricordo male- pronti ad esibirsi e il nostro gruppo era in scaletta come apertura della serata. Esiste ancora un VHS da qualche parte con le riprese del concerto, ovviamente abbiamo suonato malissimo ma da qualche parte si deve pur iniziare…

I was in a school where there was no annual event, no ballroom, no live shows, anything. So me and my mate Maurizio decied to think about something cool for the end of the school year. We talked a long with the principal, at the beginning it was something like a music concert, band only from the school and the venue was the basketball field outside the building but we didn’t make it in time and so we had to postpone the thing. Then after summer vacations we got back to where we stopped, and for December [1988] everything was ready. Four bands and I was in the band who was going to play first. Surely we didn’t play any good but you need to have a start somewhere…
