Teenage wasteland

roger

Cosa succede in quei magici 7 anni?

Teenage wasteland is the definition of a clear social disease The Who wrote about in 1971. The real essence of rock and roll. I wish I could say that this is how it’s always been and how it will always be but I am sure that, due the recent productions, this is now simply meaningless.
At age 13 the world is yours, you are full of ideas and aspirations, at age 20 you’re a total wanker.
Why’s that?
What happens in those magical 7 years?
Hi-tech evolved but involved our world at the same time, and our eyes are now too tired to see what’s happening.
We wanted high fidelity sound to enjoy music at its best, letting vibrations make our hearts pound. We wanted it so much that today we compressed any sound at 128bits at 44.100Hz in mp3 format. Where has the hi-fi gone now?
We have houses falling to pieces at any given heartquake while buildings that the Romans built are still standing and safe.
We have processors running faster than our imagination but, to enjoy a computer, what we really need is a simple decent web browser.
We accumulated a huge number of multimedia files, endless collections of pirated DVD’s that we are never going to see on our precious TV’s more than once.
The world today is dominated by electric current, once gone, our world crashes down.
Banks are doomed, social networking is doomed, this blog is doomed, everything comes to an end.
What then?
Where is the teenage wasteland in 2010?
